#1- Should Andrew Jackson be celebrated or condemned as a U.S. President?

I dont think Jackson should be celebrated as a U.S. President. Jackson has created so much controversy with many Indian tribes. also made the Indians tribe suffer badly. He disrespected the processes and institution essential to republican government. He also weakened the national bank.

The Trials of Tears eliminated Indians. Jackson forced the Indians to give up their lands East of the Mississippi River. The Cherokee tribe called their journeys "The Trial of Tears" because of all the horrible effects it had on families by losing loved ones. 16,000 Indians died during the removal. The Indian Removal Act started in 1838 and ended in 1839.

Jackson disrespected the processes and institutions essential to republican government. "I cannot be intimidated from doing that which my judgement and conscience tell me is right by any earthly power." That quote shows Jackson was a selfish, self-centered, and tyrannical ruler. Jackson made decisions due to his personal benefit. Jackson ignored the power of the Judicial Branch to judge laws.

In 1833 Jackson anounced that the government will no longer use the second bank of the U.S. (their countrys national bank.) Jackson also used the executive power to remove all federal funds from the bank. Jackson called for investigation into the banks policies. On September 10,1833, he removed all federal funds from the second bank. Jackson succeeded destroying the bank; its charter officially expired in 1836.

Andrew Jackson didnt seem the president type. He forced Indians to be removed from East Mississippi River. Jackson never obeyed Judicial power. Jackson made Indians suffer badly during the Indian Removal Act. He also showed how self-centered he was.
