History Essay #2- How have Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson contributed to development and

Many people in history have helped out our country with its growth and development. Some people we may not even know the names of, but what did Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson contribute towards the U.S.?

Alexander Hamilton was born supposedly on January 11, 1755. The exact year of his birth is unknown. In 1777 Hamilton became General George Washington's assistant. Also, he got the New Yorkers to agree to ratify the U.S. Constitution. He also did many great things for the United States in between before and after these events. Alexander Hamilton was a member of the Continental Congress and also an author for federalist papers. Let alone, he was also a champ of the Constitution and first secretary of the Treasury. He helped found the national bank and the U.S. Mint and tax collection. In his younger ages he was speaking speeches at public meetings and started to write essays about the revolution. He became a captain of artillery in 1776. Alexander Hamilton also took part in the Battle of Long Island and the New York retreat. Then, in 1777 Hamilton joined Washington's staff. He stayed as staff until 1781 then he was commander of battery and artillery at the Battle of Yorktown. One of his greatest achievements was funding the federal debt at face value. It nationalized financial chaos that was caused because of the Revolution. After creating or help creating the first National bank he was establishing a rapprochement with the British.

Moreover, many of his actions provoked intense opposition between him Jefferson and Madison. Hamilton didn't let these differences stop him in his progress, but they did hit collision in the 1790's. He continued to do Federalist politics and left the Treasury in 1795 t practice law. Also when Jefferson and Burr were tied in their presidency in the 1800's Hamilton helped defeat Burr. In 1804 he was challenged to a duel with Burr and was wounded and died the next day.

As for Alexander Hamilton what did Thomas Jefferson do? Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence and also our third president. He helped lead the U.S. into early development. He was the governor of Virginia. Jefferson was also in the Virginia legislature and the Continental Congress. Another of his achievements would be that he served as vice president under John Adams in 1735 to 1826. In the 1800 he was elected president. During the two terms he served from 1801 to 1809 Lewis and Clark explored the new acquisition and the United States claimed the purchase of Louisiana Territory. Jefferson oddly did promote that each individual should have their own liberty and freedom but he owned slaves himself.

In addition, During his lifetime he was always thinking of new inventions that would improve daily life such as farming. He invented a type of moldboard for plows that was very productive, Furthermore, he was most important for being the founding father of the D.I. and also believing in the rights that men have. Besides the Declaration of Independence and being the third president Thomas Jefferson also was a leader during the enlightenment. As for that, Thomas Jefferson really helped out with growth of the United States.

Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton helped out in many different ways to growth of the nation. Many battles that Hamilton leaded was won and was a U.S. victory. For Thomas Jefferson the Declaration of Independence and the enlightenment also being third president was all great growths and contributions to the United States.
